Apart from the conversion software mentioned above, 2 approaches are used to convert paper to CAD files:

  2. Rasterization: Used for paper print-outs of a CAD output or a blue print drafted to scale. At least one measurement in the X and Y axis is essential. A PDF or jpeg image of the paper is inserted in the CAD file. The image is rotated to match the angle and orientation to the actual drawing.
