(contd…30…provisions for hearing impaired)
In our previous post we mentioned in detail the provisions to be made by The AEC associates Architectural CAD drafting services to make the buildings and facilities accessible for the sightless and partially sighted persons. It’s the moral, social and in many countries statutory obligation for Architectural CAD drafting services to provide an enabling environment for the persons with disabilities. Today we will discuss about the provisions necessary to make the use of buildings and facilities convenient and safe for the hearing impaired.
Special provisions for the hearing impaired:
- Clearly visible colored signs and traffic signals should be provided to help the hearing impaired cross the roads safely and conveniently.
- Clearly written messages should be used instead of speech messages and verbal transmissions, especially in emergency situations. Induction loops should be installed in public facilities like assembly halls and telephone booths.
- Flashing light signals should be provided at doors and in elevators and emergency situations to alert the hearing impaired.
Persons with disabilities form a large and important section of our society. They deserve to be provided an enabling environment by The AEC associates Architectural CAD drafting services to fulfill their dreams and aspirations and contribute equally towards the society’s progress. We have been covering the topic in our previous posts to spread awareness about the needs and requirements of the disabled persons in order to make the buildings and facilities convenient and safe for them. It has been our endeavor that more and more designers and public in general develop sensitivity towards their needs and requirements.
