Architectural Drafting Services

The job of the providers of Architectural drafting services like The AEC Associates cannot look very rewarding. When you produce a spectacular building, you are expected to do it, anyway and this could feel thankless sometimes. The crucial part being, the designing process goes through so many stages, each just as crucial as the other

.Architectural drafting services need to make sure that everything is in order to make the building process efficient and productive. The project team could often make some common yet critical errors that should be avoided at any cost.

Architectural Drafting Services

Some of these errors are discussed below:

  • Not taking your client seriously enough

The first principle to abide for Architectural drafting services providers should be – client is the boss. Their needs, requirements and preferences should always be your primary focus. Try to know them inside-out, so the building designed by you reflects their personality. If you don’t take them seriously enough and don’t have heart to heart discussion with them, your project will not make them happy. As an expert it’s your job to detail their requirements and offer your suggestions in these discussions to avoid any conflicts. It is important to consider these aspects to begin the project on a good note.

  • Not doing a thorough site survey

A building has to be built on the site provided to you. You are inviting serious trouble if you fail to make a thorough site survey before starting the project. If you aspire to produce timeless architecture, it’s imperative to make the full use of the immediate surroundings and the features of the site. Everything here is an asset, a gift for the architect. Right from the slope of the site, sun &water orientation, natural features like water bodies or mounds, and so on.These can play a vital role in designing an outstanding building.

  • Not ensuring the accuracy of documentation

One important thing to consider is, that your drawings are never prepared on a true scale.Hence, even one millimetre on a drawing actually means a lot more on the actual site. The slightest of inaccuracies or errors in your drawings would naturally change the entire structure beyond redemption. It’s the responsibility of the providers of Architectural drafting services to check the drawings and other documents to ensure everything is in order.

Top providers of Architectural drafting services must avoid some of these most common mistakes to be able to produce functionally efficient and aesthetically pleasing buildings. Taking care of a few important aspects, like the client, site, and accuracy of documentation will help in the long run.

3 Reasons Colors Are So Important For Architectural Drafting Services

The constant endeavor of The AEC Associates Architectural Drafting Services is to transform the dream castles of their clients into solid structures of bricks, stones and mortar, of glass, concrete and steel. Colors have the power of instantly altering the mood and quality of a space or structure, playing a significant role in helping Architectural drafting services produce landmark buildings that are loved by one and all. Color, a visual perception, allows us to identify so many things in our surroundings; following are some reasons colors are so important for the designers.

  • Signature of the owner

Architectural drafting services can use colors to convey the personality of the owner in an unambiguous manner. Sparkling or flashy shades signify a vibrant personality, while light or neutral hues are mostly preferred by a somber person. A designer can choose his color schemes keeping in view the personality and preferences of the client.

  • Lifts morale

Colors have the power to swing your moods; they can influence you in a positive or negative way. Some spaces can lift your morale while others may send you into an instant depression; the key is the color used. One can create a positive mindset and a happy mood in the buildings by using appropriate paints. Sunny hues or a touch of vibrant red on white, and you will instantly make the atmosphere gay and cheerful. The color scheme has the capacity to alter the whole mood of a space, and the users, in an instant.

  • Changes the feel of a space

Colors have the ability to create visual illusions to suit the needs of the clients; a quality Architectural drafting services can use to their advantage. Dark colors may be used to make a big façade (or space) look smaller, and lighter or sober colors to make smaller spaces look much larger.

Colors play a significant role for Architectural drafting services in producing exceptional designs. You can give a positive, vibrant feeling to your structures and spaces using the right color schemes, and make the buildings a true reflection of the personality of your clients.

3 C’s That Can Help Architectural Drafting Services Produce Great Architecture

The AEC Associates Architectural Drafting Services strive hard to turn the dreams of their clients into solid structures of bricks and stone, concrete and steel. Besides satisfying the needs and requirements of the client, Architectural drafting services also aspire to produce unique, spectacular buildings for the posterity. One would love to have a standardized design formula for dishing brilliant buildings one after the other, but architecture is a creative profession and it’s very difficult to provide a strict guideline for working in a way as to fulfill this objective. We can, however, follow a few basic principles to make it simpler and more effective; some of these principles are discussed below.

  • Creativity is the key

Creativity is the key to producing a good, unique design. This is the virtue that helps Architectural drafting services leave their imprint on their buildings. While lesser beings reproduce prototypes or just copy others, a creative individual breaks free from the ordinary and innovates continuously to find a place among the exclusive club of top architects.  Unbridled creativity is the tool that gives     you a sense of immense fulfillment besides allowing you to come up with some dazzling buildings.

  • Common sense is essential

Creativity is of no use without common sense. You cannot produce a practical enough design without mixing  these two. There’s no point in imagining a castle in the air you cannot actually build. Also interact with the clients to know about their tastes and preferences, their social standing and budgetary constraints, and also site conditions, climate and orientation etc to come up with a practically functional and aesthetically pleasing structure to satisfy your client and win hearts all over besides knowing the functionality aspects and anthropometrics; otherwise the end result would be a failure.

  • Comfort of the client

A designer must strive to make the structure as comfortable as possible for the end-users. All the needs and requirements of the client must be satisfied by the design produced by Architectural drafting services in order for it to be considered successful. The building should reflect an individual’s personality and preferences, and look and feel cozy and inviting.

Importance of line and form in landscape design Architectural CAD Drafting
Importance of line and form in landscape design Architectural CAD Drafting

Form is an important element of landscape design that helps The AEC Associates Architectural CAD Drafting services produce breathtaking landscapes. We have been discussing in our posts about how Architectural CAD drafting can use different forms and their properties to decide a theme for the design and come up with aesthetically attractive landscapes. This post continues with the discussion.

Shrub forms

Shrub forms often compliment tree forms. They may include upright, vase shaped, spiky, arching, mounding, rounded, cascading or irregular forms. Shrub forms are used depending on whether they are in a mass or as a single specimen. Mounding shrub would look best in a mass while cascading form looks great as a specimen.

 Groundcover forms

Groundcover forms are ground hugging, small plants that have little impact as individual plants. It’s best to use them as masses. They may include matting, spreading, sprawling, clumping and short spikes etc.

Properties of form

  • Form is so powerful, it decides the overall theme of a landscape for Architectural CAD drafting. People can distinguish or perceive a form just by an outline or silhouette. A pattern, the basic organizational structure of a landscape, is created by the repetition of form.
  • Form determines if a garden is formal or informal. A garden using geometric forms has an established style and formal feel, like contemporary gardens. On the other hand, an informal garden mostly uses naturalistic forms.
  • Form compatibility is a major component of a landscape. One or two strikingly different forms may create interest but it’s advisable to mostly use forms having something in common in order to give a unified look to the design.

Architectural CAD drafting need to understand the properties of various elements of landscape design to be able to produce gardens that are appealing to all the visitors. Form is a major element that determines the theme of a landscape and gives it a distinctive style. We shall continue discussing other elements of landscape design in our future posts.

Importance of Line And Form In Landscape Design Architectural CAD Drafting (Continued)

The AEC Associates Architectural CAD Drafting services must follow the basic principles of landscape design to come up with interesting compositions and pleasant outdoor spaces. It’s important for Architectural CAD drafting to understand the basic elements of landscaping- line, form, color, texture and visual weight- to produce landscape designs that are able to attract the visitors and satisfy the clients. We continue the intricacies of element of line here before moving on the form.

Line:

As we discussed in our previous post, lines are a powerful tool for Architectural CAD drafting as they can be used to create forms and patterns, produce themes, develop spaces, and control movement of the eye and the body.

How are lines created:

Landscape lines can be created in the following ways-

  • When two different materials meet on the ground plane- a brick footpath meeting an expanse of green grass
  • When the edge of an object is visible or contrasts with the background- The silhouette of a tree against the sky or outline of a sculpture against a patch of green
  • The placement of a material in a line- a fence or a short line of hedges.

Characteristics of lines:

The response of the people to the landscape, both physically and emotionally, is determined by the characteristics of lines. We present a brief summary below:

  • Straight lines

Structural and forceful, create a formal character, associated usually with symmetrical designs, lead the eye directly to a focal point. Found mostly in hardscape edges and materials.

  • Diagonal lines

Straight lines with an intentional direction.

  • Curved lines

Create an informal, natural and relaxed character; associated with nature and asymmetrical designs, move the eye at a slower pace creating mystery to the space by hiding certain views.

  • Vertical lines

Move the eye up, thus creating the illusion that the space is actually larger; can emphasize a feature and signify activity. Found in tall, narrow plant material like trees and tall structures like bird house on a pole.

  • Horizontal lines

Move the eye along the ground and make the space look larger, more subdued, create a feeling of rest or relaxation. Found in low garden walls, pathways or short hedges etc.

Lines play an important role in enabling Architectural CAD drafting create pleasing landscapes. In our next post, we shall be discussing the significance of form for the landscape designers.

Architectural CAD Drafting
Architectural CAD Drafting: Providing An Accessible Environment

The role of The AEC Associates Architectural CAD Drafting services is not limited to just producing buildings and amenities for the community. A large portion of our society find it hard to negotiate the facilities provided at large in our cities and in our buildings. The disabled people, the senior citizens, sick and the young children often face life-threatening hazards while negotiating the roads, buildings and other spaces even in a modern, planned city; it’s the moral and social obligation of Architectural CAD drafting to ensure that they can live and work without any health hazards or risk to their lives. Let us discuss here how can the designers ensure the safety and convenience of this important section of the society.

Design considerations:

When we talk about our immediate environment, we can divide the overall design scenario into essentially three segments. Architectural CAD drafting must have design parameters for these three segments to make sure that every citizen is able to lead a hazard-free, normal life.

  • The roads:

Negotiating the roads in the cities today with so much traffic is nothing short of a miracle even for perfectly healthy and normal people. Now spare a moment for those who have some sort of a disability or have been affected by their growing age or some sickness. Crossing the road would be nearly impossible for them without an aid from the designers. It’s necessary to provide a devise to stop the traffic when these people cross the road. Such devices are available, we only have to install them at every crossing and make sure that people follow the rules.

Similarly, providing safe pedestrian paths and other such amenities is essential to make roads safe for these people.

  • Entrance and interior of a building:

When the designers conceptualize a building, especially a large public or private building, they tend to overlook some basic fundamentals that could prove dangerous for the above mentioned people. If they don’t provide steps with handrails and ramps with proper slopes, it gets difficult for these people to even enter the building without risking their wellbeing. Glass doors often cause confusions and even thwart the wheelchair bound people to go through without lot of trouble. The inside staircases or elevators also present many obstacles for the disabled and the aged people. Architectural CAD drafting services must consider every aspect to make these usable for these people.

We shall continue this discussion in our next post to see how the designers can make life a lot easier for a part of the society that needs just a little help from our side to lead a perfectly normal life.

As a responsible part of the society, it’s the duty of The AEC Associates Architectural CAD Drafting firms to cater to the needs of each and every section of the society. A large portion of our society faces disability of one kind or the other and they need an enabling environment to help them move freely without assistance and contribute towards the betterment of the society;  Architectural CAD Drafting Services can play their part here. They are duty bound to consider the specific requirements of the people with disabilities while designing and building or facility. We must not forget that

Architectural CAD Drafting
Responsibilities Of Architectural CAD Drafting Companies Towards Designing For Differently Abled

Differently abled people with different needs:

Unlike what many people still believe, a disabled person is not without any qualities, they can contribute equally to the society if given the right environment and opportunities. When we talk about designing for persons with disabilities (PWD); we must not forget that most of us face some disability at some time or the other during our lifetime, a little child, an elderly person, person with a broken leg, a person suffering from some illness; these are just some of the examples where even a perfectly bodied person may face a disability like situation. Architectural CAD drafting team, therefore, must take into account the special needs and requirements of the disabled persons while developing the design of any building or facility.

Changing picture:

The awareness about the special needs of the differently abled people has been rising steadily and a lot of building and town planning codes have been developed and implemented in the developed countries to provide accessibility to these persons that certainly is their right in order to be able to avail of equal opportunities in the society. As mentioned earlier, there is enormous potential in these persons, rightly called differently abled persons now, and it’s important to help them realize this potential by providing them a level playing field.

Types of disabilities:

While considering the specific requirements for PWD (persons with disabilities), the Architectural It’s necessary for Architectural CAD Drafting companies to keep in mind the different types of disabilities they have to cater for. We can broadly classify these categories as:

  • Wheel chair users
  • People with limited walking abilities
  • The Visually impaired- the sightless
  • The partially sighted persons
  • The hearing impaired

One more category could be added here that of the learning disabled, those with slow learning ability.

Special provisions:

One must ensure that the buildings or facilities being designed must cater for the needs of each of these categories. For example, while a ramp is essential for a wheel chair user; a person using crutches will find the stairs much easier to negotiate. Similarly, while sightless persons need tactile signs in order to enable them to know number of the floor and their exact location; hearing impaired need sound signals for the same.

Disabled people are just as important for the society as normal bodied persons; Architectural CAD drafting firms can play a significant role in enabling them to work to their full potential and lead a normal life. It is necessary, thus, for the designers to cater to their special needs while designing buildings and facilities.

Architectural Drafting Services

The design process followed by The AEC Associates Architectural Drafting Services is a long and complex one having several stages; it is essential to follow each of the stages involved meticulously to produce a successful design. One must understand the requirements and intricacies of these stages; otherwise ensuring a good design and client’s satisfaction would not be possible for Architectural drafting services. People often reason that architectural designing is a highly creative and thus individualistic profession; therefore, defining its working in the strictest sense is just not possible. However, some basic parameters have to be followed to ensure a smooth workflow.

Stages of design:

Even though every individual or organization can define various stages of design process according to their own style and convenience, forming some guidelines can make the working of an office systematic and standardized. This is essential to make the process easier to follow. In general, we can define 3 stages for a standard design process that are as follows.

  • Discussion with the client:

The client is the boss, as they say. The first and perhaps the most important stage is having initial discussions with the client as it sets the tone for the entire design process. Architectural drafting services just cannot take the project forward without finalizing the requirements of the client first. You must know the basic requirements as this is the basis for developing the design. Besides this, one needs to understand the taste and preferences of the client also in order to give the building a stamp of their personality. This stage can also be quite challenging because often the clients themselves are not clear about their exact requirements or there might be a conflict among the clients about the requirements and detailing. You should have the skill to draw out what they want and successfully complete this first stage.

  • Conceptualization and development of design:

Once you know the client’s requirements, the actual part of the design process begins with the conceptualization of the design. As the design is being conceptualized and developed, initial feedback is sought from the client. The design is gradually polished and given a final shape with continuous discussions and feedback from the owners. Regular discussions are absolutely necessary to avoid any misunderstanding or confusions. This ensures that the process is moving in the right direction.

  • Presentation and working drawings:

Making drawings is essential for Architectural drafting services as this is the medium through which the design is conveyed to the clients. You also need drawings to convey to the contractors and consultants how the building is going to be. Construction is just not possible unless you have the detailed working drawings ready. You thus have to prepare two sets of drawings: presentation drawings for the clients and working drawings for consultants and contractors.

Architectural drafting services need to complete each of the above mentioned stages efficiently and smoothly in order to complete the design process successfully. This would ensure that the building is functionally efficient and aesthetically pleasing and satisfies the expectations of the client.

The demand for specialization has become a norm rather than an exception in the present era and this has prompted many organizations to hire The AEC Associates Architectural drafting services instead of using their in-house teams. Thousands of outsourcing vendors have mushroomed across the globe providing specialized Architectural CAD drafting services for various types of buildings and other projects. However, a lot of people still have many apprehensions about outsourcing their work to the outside vendors despite the fact that it has become quite a common phenomenon now. Particularly, most old-timers still find the idea of outsourcing their work quite unpalatable and prefer to go with their in-house teams. However, despite all these apprehensions, hiring Architectural CAD services offers several benefits that are being listed below.

Hiring Architectural Drafting Services
Hiring Architectural Drafting Services
  • Ensure top quality:

Most reputed outsourcing vendors are groups of top professionals, each one specializing in some specific discipline. These professionals have long years of experience of working on large and diversified projects and know their job inside out. Unless you are in the field for very long and succeed in retaining your trusted people, it’s difficult to get the same quality from your in-house teams. You need to ensure accuracy and top quality on a regular basis if you want to be on top, these experienced vendors can help you achieve that objective. There is a caution though, it’s necessary to go through their portfolio carefully before handing over the project to them so that you don’t get disappointed at a later stage.

  • Timely delivery:

Time is the most precious commodity today. You face the risk of losing a project if you don’t get your drawings on time. One advantage of outsourcing your drafting work is that these Architectural drafting services are usually located in different time zones than your own. This means that the work on your project goes on even when you have closed your office for the day. You can ensure a timely delivery by giving them a time schedule and following-up regularly. These reputed vendors have their own reputations to protect anyway, so they cannot afford to mess up.

  • Cost effective:

A lot of people have the misconception that outsourcing your drafting work will cost a lot of money. However, the advantage here is that you already know what it is going to cost you once you hand over the project to them and can choose your vendor accordingly. On the other hand, your cost can really escalate if your in-house team is not very efficient or if some unforeseen circumstances appear. Moreover, if you outsource your work, you save a lot on office space and extra employee salaries and perks.

  • Safety of data :

One of the biggest apprehensions while dealing with an outside vendor is about data theft or leakage. However, a non-disclosure agreement can help you in this regard. As a matter of fact, you face a greater threat of leakage or theft from your own office staff in general than an unknown outside vendor.

Hiring Architectural drafting services can be very beneficial provided you enquire well about the credentials of third party vendor and ensure that they have handled projects like this one before. Provisions like penalty clauses or non-disclosure agreement may be used to safeguard your interests and reap the benefits of outsourcing.

3D CAD modeling is a powerful tool for The AEC Associates Architectural drafting services, giving them unprecedented freedom and flexibility to experiment with shapes and forms. The modern day CAD software allows the Architectural CAD drafting services to save time and work more efficiently by improving their workflow. A 3D model is a powerful tool for the designers helping them think and conceptualize directly in three dimensions, and draftsmen to produce accurate 3D drawings and life-like views.

Architectural Drafting Services: Advantages Of 3D Surface Modeling
Architectural Drafting Services: Advantages Of 3D Surface Modeling

3D CAD Models:

There are basically three types of 3D CAD models in use:

  • 3D Wireframe models
  • 3D Surface models
  • 3D Solid models

We shall discuss the surface models in detail here, explaining the other two types briefly.

The simplest type of 3D CAD modeling is Wireframe modeling. It provides just an extended form of 2D orthographic projections. Wireframe modeling is far superior to the traditional 2D process, but it has its limitations. These models have to be edited in order to remove extraneous lines and add hidden and center lines so that they conform to the standards. This is the most basic type of 3D model and is used to develop the initial design idea.

3D Surface Modeling:

When the interior forms of a structure are not very important and only the exterior surfaces really matter, a form of 3D modeling more complex than the Wireframe modeling is used by the Architectural drafting services, it’s called 3D surface modeling. Surface modeling is a technique of representing solid looking objects. If we compare the three types of 3D models, a surface model is more complex than the wireframe model, but it’s not as sophisticated or complete as a solid model. It’s not possible to slice open a surface model like a solid model. For this reason, a proper appearance is no guarantee that the object will definitely be geometrically correct.

You cannot get the complete view of a structure using a3D surface model since it simulates the structure only externally, and excludes the interior form. Therefore, it is useful only in the projects where the exterior holds more importance and interior form is not to be considered yet. If the designer is using a wireframe model but feels that they need a more comprehensive view, it is possible to obtain a surface model by adding surfaces to the wireframe. 3D surface models have their limitations since they cannot display internal features of an object. It means that there can be a clash of elements, especially in case of complex structures.

3D Solid Modeling:

A 3D solid model is complete in every sense. It’s the most complex of the 3 types of models giving a life-like view of both exterior and interior surfaces. It’s possible to obtain a view from any conceivable angle using this model, even an inside out view is possible that gives you an exact idea of the structure. It allows the user to quickly and easily detect the conflicting elements of the structure, if any. However, developing a solid model takes a lot of time and effort. As a result, these are used only when the structure is complex enough and no other type of model serves the purpose.

Architectural CAD drafting services make extensive use of CAD 3D models today to improve quality and efficiency. With every subsequent version providing some new innovation and added features, CAD software promise to make life even better for the design professionals in future.
